During the past year, the Hillside Club has embarked on an ambitious project to upgrade our house systems to provide a state of the art environment for music, theater, film and other performing arts. We’re excited to share these new systems with our performing arts community and audience members.

LIGHTING SYSTEMS

The Hillside Club has three lighting systems. Our house lights, a simple switch operated set of stage lighting and a full digital theatrical lighting system.

 

Houselights

House Lights use a set of basic controls (on/off) located on the balcony and main hall floor. An additional set of controls are backstage, and include dimming.

STAGE AND LOAD-IN

Stage Load-In Area

We have two options for stage load-on

1. The front main entry of the club. This consists of a pair of double doors. There is a ramp  to the sidewalk or three short steps to reach the doors.

2. A pair of large double doors, just off stage towards the west end of the building. 

 

Dressing Room Load-In Area

If you will be using our basement dressing rooms, there is an entry door on the west side of the building at ground level leading directly into the main dressing room. This door measures XX’w x XX’, and is behind a locked gate (see manager for access).

Stage Floor

The stage floor and apron floor are wood, stained black

Screws and nails are not allowed on the stage floor. Any significant damage must be repaired after use.

 

Support Areas

Access: Stage is accessed through a pair of steps on the east and west end from the hall, backstage via stairs (east and west) to the basement dressing rooms and directly from the green room (located just south of the stage). Access from the stage to the auditorium is through doors downstage left and right. 

Crossover: Crossover through the basement via stairs.

Storage: Limited storage is available stage left, and in the green room or basement.
