The Theme is “Colonial Days.” Be sure to read the announcement enclosed with this bulletin to learn more about the very special dinner and program which the committee has planned for your enjoyment. If you can come attired as a colonial dame or squire, you will add much to the colonial atmosphere, but if you wear modern dress, you will be welcome as a visitor from the 20th century.
Civic Affairs Section, October 20
Paul Harberts, president of the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce, will be our speaker. His topic, “The Chamber and the City,” will detail the various projects Mr. Harberts plans for the chamber, including study of the finances in the Berkeley schools, opposition in the courts to the Neighborhood Preservation and Voting Reform Act, and establishing a traffic task force to watchdog traffic planning. We are honored to have this dedicated Berkeleyan share his views with us.

The Club’s archive of printed monthly newsletters ended with the May 1994 issue. If you know of a source for any newsletters between 1994 and the Club’s renaissance in the early 2000s, your historian would love to hear about it!
