Our next tasting will be 7:30PM on Monday March 12th. It will feature red wines from South America. Wines of South America are often associated with plonk, which isn't surprising given how much plonk is imported from South America. But in fact there are some excellent examples, as we discovered a few years ago in Argentina, with good wines also made in Chile and Uruguay. The cost will be $25 for members and $30 for non-members. Members get an exclusive right to sign up for this tasting through Sunday February 18th. After that it will be opened to non-members. While some imports may have created the stereotype of “plonk,” many wineries there craft rich and complex wines that deserve recognition. Events like this are a great way to discover hidden gems and expand your palate.
